BINDOMAX™ Multi-Component Mycotoxin Binder

Protection in layers: before, during and after mycotoxin exposure.

BINDOMAX™ combines a chemically modified, micronized mineral, yeast cell wall, humic acid, plant extracts and organic acid salts. Each one has a defined job, so the binder can adsorb a broad range of mycotoxins and support the liver and kidneys in poultry and dairy cattle.

Mycotoxins Never Come Alone

Feed grains such as corn and soybean meal can carry several mycotoxins at once, and warm, humid handling and storage make it worse. Each toxin behaves differently in the gut:

  • Aflatoxins (B1, B2, G1, G2): B1 is the most toxic and carcinogenic of the family.
  • Ochratoxin A: damages the kidneys and reduces performance.
  • Zearalenone: disrupts hormones and fertility.
  • Deoxynivalenol: cuts feed intake and damages the gut lining.

No single ingredient covers all of them. Aflatoxin B1 binds to minerals through the aluminum in their structure, while yeast cell wall works through a different mechanism altogether. BINDOMAX™ was designed around that fact.

How it works

Three Layers. One Binder.

Before

Prevent mold growth in the feed.

During

Bind the toxins in the gut.

After

Protect the liver and kidneys.

LayerComponentsWhat happens
Before: in the feedPropionic and formic acid saltsLower feed pH and slow the growth of molds and harmful bacteria
During: crop and proventriculusProcessed mineral, yeast cell wallAcidic mineral surface binds polar toxins; long-chain surfactant groups bind non-polar toxins
During: small intestineYeast cell wall, humic acidKeep adsorption going where the mineral is less effective at near-neutral pH
After: liver and kidneyMilk thistle and artichoke extractsNeutralize free radicals from any toxin that is absorbed

Why does processing matter?

A mineral binder is only as good as its processing. The BINDOMAX™ mineral goes through a gentle, controlled pre-heating step, then acid activation, then surfactant functionalization. The pre-heating stays below the temperature range where bentonite begins to lose its layered structure, so the structure that carries the adsorption capacity stays intact. Acid activation raises the surface area and the number of active sites, and the surfactant groups extend the binding to non-polar toxins.

More ingredients is not the point. Coverage is.

Every component in BINDOMAX™ was screened in the laboratory and kept because it fills a specific gap. A longer ingredient list can add cost and compete for the same binding sites. A smarter one gives each layer of protection a clear role.

Results by species

Mycotoxin Binders to Benefit Broilers

In a 42-day university trial, 240 Ross 308 male chicks were fed 500 µg/kg aflatoxin B1. At 1.5 g of BINDOMAX™ per kg of feed, compared with the toxin-only group [2]:

Better feed conversionWhole-period FCR improved from 2.34 to 2.05, a 12% gain.
Healthier liversRelative liver weight fell from 2.69% to 2.22%, and liver fat from 14.4% to 11.9%.
Less toxin in the tissueAflatoxin B1 residue in the liver fell with dose, from 2.51 to 2.33 ng/g.
Normal-looking liversLiver colour moved significantly closer to normal.
Less organ stressRelative heart and pancreas weights fell significantly compared with the toxin-only group.

Mycotoxin Binders to Benefit Dairy Cows

In a 7-week field trial with 180 high-producing Holstein cows, 30 g of BINDOMAX™ per cow per day was compared with a reference toxin binder fed at the same rate [3]. The BINDOMAX™ group showed:

More milk1.32 kg more milk per cow per day.
Better milk qualitySignificantly higher milk casein.
Cleaner milkSignificantly lower aflatoxin M1 concentration in milk.
Healthier uddersLower milk somatic cell score.
Better intake and ruminationImproved dry matter and crude protein intake, and significantly longer rumination time in weeks 3 to 6.
Lower inflammationSignificantly lower blood TNF-α and IL-1β.

BINDOMAX™ Multi-Component Mycotoxin Binder

Tighter feed safety rules. Higher expectations from every buyer. Feed that has to carry more risk than ever. BINDOMAX™ is the result of a two-phase research program of more than two years, run with the Iranian Research Institute of Food Science and Technology and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad.

Its adsorption results were published in Scientific Reports in 2025 and repeated in an independent laboratory, which confirmed aflatoxin adsorption above 90% [1].

Recommended inclusion

ApplicationRecommended inclusion
Poultry: low contamination risk0.75 kg per tonne of feed. Lowest proven dose; for continuous preventive use.
Poultry: moderate risk1.0 to 1.25 kg per tonne of feed
Poultry: high risk1.5 kg per tonne of feed. Highest dose tested; largest reduction in tissue residues.
High-producing dairy cows30 g per cow per day

Feeding instructions: Add evenly at the feed mixing stage. For best distribution, first blend with part of the premix or carrier, then add to the full batch. Compatible with common feed additives. The poultry doses between 0.75 and 1.5 kg/t come from the broiler trial; the 1.0 to 1.25 kg/t range is interpolated between the two tested doses. Consult your regional nutritionist for final feeding levels.
